Harp Circles are announced by the board. We usually meet at the Koelbel Library
in Centennial which is located on the corner of Holly and Orchard.
A Harp Circle Leader could also find a location in another part of town.
These are informal gatherings of members with the objective of sharing harp music.
We spend part of the time playing ensemble music together.
We use the CCHS Playbook which you can purchase from Carolyn Hinds
or borrow a copy to use at the Harp Circle.
The rest of the time, individuals are invited to play a piece they are working on.
The emphasis is on sharing and encouragement, not on performance.
Members are encouraged to discuss the rewards and challenges of harp playing,
and questions are encouraged.
Also, we often sit in a circle!
Workshops
Occasionally we have workshops that are lead by members of the Harp Society or
by professionals. Costs will vary based on the workshops being offered.
They may be one-day events or longer.
Ensembles
Members are encouraged to form ensembles to play for themselves or out in public.
Harp Buddies
At your request we will add you to a list of players in your area
that might like a Harp Buddy. The list is kept private.
If we get two possible Buddies from the same general area
we will contact you both individually.
Use the contact page and include Harp Buddies in the message.
Having a Harp Buddy can help you both in lots of ways.
For example:
· Explore possibilities in finding the appropriate harp teacher.
· Attend the annual harp retreat. Share driving or room together.
· Learn about the wide range of harp music that is available.
· Go to a harp workshop or concert together.
· Find or start an ensemble group.
· Get over stage fright or learning frustration.
· Get help with a particular technique problem.
· Play your harps together. Have fun!
· Meet other CCHS members.
